Velvet Knot Weddings is led by Renée Browne and Vanessa Chatel — longtime friends, creative partners, and storytellers behind the lens.

Our story began over 18 years ago at Renée’s family photography studio, where Vanessa started as an intern. What began as mentorship quickly evolved into something more. Vanessa learned quickly, developed her eye with intention, and before long we were working seamlessly side by side.

Over the years, our collaboration deepened — built on trust, shared standards, and a mutual love for meaningful imagery.

Today, we bring more than three decades of combined professional photography experience to every wedding we photograph. But beyond experience, we bring history.
